We are currently gathering the initial requirements for the AdMiRe system with the end users. The users are the partner TV broadcasters currently cooperating with us in our consortium. We are using in-depth-interviews which means that we record a discussion about the system getting depth in the topics that are more relevant to the current stage of development. Later on, the interviews are transcribed and analysed in order to generate the list of requirements. During the interview we discuss topics such as:

– What is AdMiRe and how it is currently designed: General use case.

– The TV broadcaster definition: Brief history, staff, business model / The facilities at the TV station /Equipment, available TV sets, robotic cameras, green screen sets.

– The TV program that would benefit from using the AdMire System: What is the added value of using the AdMiRe system / Expected outcome.

– The Participant’s side: Targeted participants / How to guide the participants in the use of the technology.

– Production topics:  Staff, timeline, budget, training the technical staff.

– Technical challenges: System architecture, latency, audio and visual quality, devices.

– Usability issues: Best devices to use, the participants setting, how to gather and select participants, interactions (between operators, participants, presenter and producer, etc … )

– Also we briefly discuss about: Ethical, privacy and security issues that could arise / Other requirements from the user’s perspective / Suggestions for the AdMiRe System.

We have already interviewed TVR and these are some screenshots from our teleconference.

We think we had a very fruitful discussion!
